Another small haul...

Browsing in the pound shop in Durham yesterday i came across these dry shampoo's which look very similar to the very popular Batiste ones which can be quite expensive in places like Boots and Superdrug etc.
I picked the brunette one and i have tried it today, it works pretty much the same as the Batiste ones, it got rid of the oil/grease in the roots of my hair so i will probably end up buying pound shops own from now on to save some pennies!  They are 200ml cans so they are a pretty good size for only £1.
Next up we have the pearl drops toothpaste which i have been using the past two weeks or longer... i've deffo noticed a big difference and even had a couple of random compliments asuch as "god your teeth look so white!" so its for sure working :D
Then finally i spotted the new Rimmel sunshimmer tan which is 'water resistant' which will be fab for those times it decides to rain and you're all tanned up for a night out.  Not totally sure if it will work at being water resistant but these were on offer 'buy one get one free' so i grabbed the last two water resistant ones and paid £6.99 for two which is still quite expensive considering Asda sometimes do these tans for £2-£3 each anyway.

Nails, lashes and Haul :)

Im wanting to go a caramel/blondey brown colour because i know it suits me best and with the nicer weather popping along i want abit of a 'sunkissed' look so i will use this 'Colour B4' which strips colour out of your hair, i have used this once before and it got dark brown dye out but it did leave my hair slightly ginger and i made a mistake of putting a medium brown on and it went almost black!!! so this time i picked up a dark blonde dye because obviously it will go darker and see how it turns out.  Once im happy with the colour i will order some new hair extensions as the ones i have are dark and i dont fancy stripping them.
I got Colour B4 from Boot for £9.99 and the Garnier dye was on offer for £3.99 (so i bought two of them!)
I had a No7 £5 voucher on me so i decided to get a nail polish as they are pretty much the cheapest thing from the brand, they are £7 so my mam decided to kindly put the rest of the money towards it.  I got the shade Cheeky Chops which was the very last one and i can see why its so popular as its such a beautiful corally pink summery colour and i cant wait to wear this :D love it

I then had my nails booked in today and with a full set of gel nails with glitter tips you could also either get lash extensions or brow wax and i picked the lash extensions :) i paid £20 for a full set of nails and the lashes which was a great offer.  The lashes are a perfect length and look natural yet glamorous, perfect for the days i cant be arsed to put on makeup or when im at the gym and i dont wana look like a corpse haha

...and finally heres my nails which im in love with, i call them my pornstar nails haha.  I know most of you will think 'ewww tacky' but i love long glamorous stripper-esque nails and i dont see the point in paying for short boring nails.  'How does she do stuff with those on?!' i hear you ask... well im just used to them as i always get them done long so i know how to work with them.
They are so sparkly and pretty :)

I got the Garnier BB cream samples sent to me and i used one today and i must say what an absolute pile of garbage.  The worst thing i've ever tried!  Its gone all blotchy on my skin and looks a mess, would much rather stick to foundation OR no makeup at all.  Just thought id share :)

Ins and Outs

INS
- Scented candles.  After my two purchases from Primarni i've been using the wild berry one and it makes my room smell nice and fruity... i cant wait to try the strawberry milkshake one :)

- Weather.  The past few days up north have been unreal - sun beaming, quite warm aswell and its only march!  Cant wait for when it gets even nicer and i can get out my summer clothes and hit the beer gardens WOOP

-  No alcohol.  I havent drank this weekend and decided to stay in and hit the gym everyday and i feel so much better for it... bring on beach bod 2012!

- Bodypump & Kettlebell classes.  I have been doing these few times per week and i can feel my body toning like crazy, my arms and thighs are toning the most and my butt feels like its firming up which is a bonus

- Pretty pastels.  Loving the pastel colours what are out for summer, candy colours skinny jeans, cropped tops, gorgeous accessories.  I cant wait to do my holiday shopping!

- ELF treat&tame.  Been applying the treat side everyday for the past 2 weeks+ and my brows have gotten much thicker and its helped them grow quicker so i can shape them nicer :) why spend £40 for products in Boots when you can buy this for £3?  Also been using vaseline as it does pretty much the same thing.

OUTS
- Accidently leaving makeup on to sleep.  I had a nap the other day and left a full face of makeup on.. woke up and one eyelash totally came off and ended up all squashed so had to bin those... and now i have a big pimple on my cheek, been smothering that bad boy in suducrem the past 2 days and its helped alot.

- Busy shops.  Went shopping on Saturday which i rarely do mainly because its far too busy, shops are too crowded, people push and shove, kids are screaming and running around, people walk slow and you cant get past them... i HATE it

- Messy bedroom.  Everytime i tidy my bedroom it ALWAYS without a doubt gets messy again after a few days... i cant help it but whenever i get ready for a night out i seem to shove everything on the floor etc.

Small Primark Haul

So today i went shopping with my mother and we always end up in Primarni... if we go to the Newcastle store we spend at least £100 as its always full of amazing stuff and the best shoes and accessories they dont seem to have in the smaller stores.  Today was just a small haul as obviously i'm gunna end up losing weight as im hammering the gym and eating healthier so dont see the point in buying too many new clothes until im happy with how i look.
So first we have the cute nautical style playsuit which will be amazing for my holiday to Ibiza and it cost £7.  Next some cute flipflops, i got these because i LOVE the colour and the flowers added a touch of cuteness, these are also available in peach so i'll probably end up getting those too and these were £6.
Then we have these gorgeous peach feather earrings which were only £4 but will look great with a plain black outfit such as a dress or playsuit just to add some colour and accessorize it nicely.
Finally these scented candles i've seen raved about on a few blogs so i thought id pick one up... Wild Berry was the nicest smelling out of all the tinned ones and was only £1.50 then i noticed the small jar ones and Strawberry milkshake was the best PLUS i got the last one and it was only £1.
I did get a couple more bits like basic black leggings and a black dress which wouldnt pick up on camera very well but it was only £6 and its short and will be great for my hols.

Overall i'm happy with my haul :) i just hate Saturday shopping so couldn't really be bothered to have a good look around and find more beauties.

Have you seen any gems in Primark lately?

A little update...

I know i've been lacking posts recently i've been busy going to the gym alot and also going out and having a social life - i mentioned a few posts back how i wanted to get fit and lose some weight, i can deffo see an improvement but im not quite there yet... I can go longer in the gym doing cardio, i LOVE bodypump classes and im going to a kettlebell class this week... also bought my own kettlebell but its quite heavy so i wanna work my way up starting off with a lighter one in a weekly class then i can do it at home.

Ive been debating with myself what colour to have my hair - i want to be dark for when i go to Ibiza in June but when i come back i think i'll get some nice highlights and get my hair to that lush caramelly colour that suits me well.

I have also been using the ELF treat & tame eyebrow product (the treat side) and i can deffinately see an improvement in growth!!!! full review to come in a couple of weeks as i have only been using it over a week or something

Keep a look out for new posts this week :)

Real Techniques eye brush set

Real Techniques was designed by Youtube Makeup guru Samantha Chapman also known as Pixiwoo.  Her makeup tutorials are amazing and i've loved watching her and her sister for the past few year. I really suggest you check them out here.
So anyways...I seen on the pixiwoo blog that Samantha would be selling her brushes in Boots stores and it said my hometown on the list which i was very surprised about as Hartlepool is such a small boring town.  I went down to Boots and i couldn't see them anywhere then i finally noticed them at the VERY bottom of the rack which was abit stupid as they are new products and should be put where everyone can see them clearly.
There was the eye set, core set, stippling brush, powder brush and the eye shader brush... i didn't see the kabuki brush anywhere.
I decided to go for the eye brush set which is called 'Your eyes enhanced- starter set' because i need some new eye brushes as i lost my MAC 217 brush a few month back and havent been able to blend my shadows properly for a while and noticed this set has a blending brush.
The packaging is really nice and on the back it has a picture of Samantha, some information and tells you about the brushes which is great!
When i opened the packaging i noticed the panoramic case first (obviously lol) and it's very good quality, it's been made really well and is durable.  This doubles up as a brush stand as you can see in the last image below which is really handy but i'm not too fussed as i'll end up putting the brushes in my brush holder soon anyways but the brush stand is handy for travelling.
You get 5 brushes for £21.99 which is a great price considering MAC brushes cost around £14 on their own for an eye brush so you really are getting an amazing deal.
The brushes are VERY soft and i can tell they are excellent quality and will last me years.  I can also tell they are going to perform well and i'm so happy i purchased this set as i know i will get good use out of it.

The brushes included are;
BASE SHADOW BRUSH - which could also double up as a soft blending brush which is ideal.
DELUXE CREASE BRUSH - which is the blending brush and is so soft and i can tell this will be my favourite.
ACCENT BRUSH - this is described on the box as a 'detailing, spotlighting, highlighting and smudging' brush but i will use this for highlight under the brow and in the inner corners.
PIXEL POINT EYELINER BRUSH - i can't see me using this much unless i use gel liner but i like totally thin brushes for that, i will still try it and see how it works though.
BROW BRUSH - finally the brow brush which is obviously for... brows.  I can't wait to try this one out as i'm obsessed with brows and i use brow powder/eyeshadow to apply colour to my brows.

Have any of you tried the Real Techniques brushes?  I really want to get the stippling brush next as i've heard many good reviews on it.

W7 POLISH RAVE!

Today i went to BnM which is a store that sells low priced homeware, beauty products, food etc. basically abit of everything.  I noticed they had tonnes of W7 polishes but i had to dig my way to the bottom of the basket to find this hot barbie pink shade and glitter shade.  The pink one is bright and looks quite neon with no shimmer in it and the glitter one is AMAZING!!!! its blue and lime green glitter and this would look amazing over a green or blue nail polish it's just so sparkly and these were £1.49 each.  There were a few other shades mostly browns, purples and a few crackle ones.  I deffo wanna pick up the brown colour as it looks like milk chocolate and will be nice for a natural nail.
The peach shade is 'sunstone' and i bought this from NewLook a few weeks ago as it was on sale for £1.50.  It's a gorgeous summery pastel coral shade with no shimmer and i can't wait to wear this in summer :)
They look so opaque after one coat and i can see me buying lots more of these... why spend about £7 on O.P.I when you can get the same shades for £1.49.  Beauty on a budget :)
a big juicy 10/10 for these!

ELF Haul & Review

Heres my ELF haul which i got last week from the online store.  I have bought ELF products before and they are decent quality for the small price tag so thought i'd buy more things as i had an e-mail with a code for 20% off when spending £15 or more.  The reason i picked the concealer palette was because i have a huge Coastal Scents concealer palette which i use alot but carrying it around is a nightmare as its so large so i seen this little one from ELF studio line and thought i'd give it a try.  The lipstick shade is a shade i've been wearing alot recently so thought i'd try it as it would be perfect to chuck into my clutch bag for nights out and for the £3 price tag i wouldn't care if i lost it.  The lipliner was something i needed, like i said i've been wearing alot of dark deep red lipsticks recently and lost my mac red enriched a few month back so i seen this and for £1.50 you cant go wrong.  The blush was just a random purchase as i need something 'cheap and chic' to throw into my handbag for during the day as i hate putting my MAC and other high end blushes in my bag incase they shatter.  Then finally the eyebrow treat&tame - i have never used a tinted brow gel before and the 'treat' part is meant to help growth of the brows so i thought why not :)
Anyways heres a review for each product...

LONGWEAR LIPLINER IN 'BITTER' - is a beautiful deep red which looks quite cherry red in the swatch but because of the flash it's kinda made it lighter than it is in real life.  It's a gorgeous dark raspberry shade which goes on really smooth and is so pigmented i can't beleive it was only £1.50

MINERAL LIPSTICK IN 'CHEERFUL CHERRY' - im so disappointed with this product, the colour is gorgeous BUT the lasting power is ridiculous.  I applied this on the weekend to go out for a night out with my friend, we were getting ready at her house and i did my lip makeup last.  I applied it and it was soooo smooth and glided on my lips and i was so happy with the dark cherry shade (helps make teeth look whiter!) but 15 minutes later when i looked in the mirror it looked as it i'd wiped it off with my hands or licked my lips for 15 minutes.  There was just no lasting power at all and i've NEVER had that with any lipstick, as you can see in the swatch one swipe isn't really all that so you have to apply it about three times to get the full pigmentation.  Total waste of £3

NAIL POLISH IN 'RED VELVET' - now this swatch totally makes the colour lighter (must play with the settings on my camera!) this is amazing, i seriously love this and for £1.50 i'd deffo buy more of these.  It's so pigmented, it barely chips... i've had this on my toes for the past 3 days and it looks perfect. The colour is very deep red with lots of shimmer to it, i'm gunna wear it on my nails this weekend so i will post a pic :) LOVE!

BLUSH IN 'TICKLED PINK' - now this was just a random purchase as you had to spend £15 or more to get the 20% discount and alot of the products i did want were out of stock.  I already have a blush from ELF in the shade 'candid coral' which is a dupe of Nars Orgasm and i really like the colour payoff and how its a more 'sheer' version of orgasm so thought i'd try a different shade.  This looked more of a darker pink on the ELF swatches online but when it came i noticed it was just a very sheer baby pink which is cool i guess... I've wore this once already and it's ok nothing special, just a slight wash of colour on the cheeks but it doesn't last for hours.

COMPLETE COVERAGE CONCEALER PALETTE IN 'MEDIUM' - the colours as you can see are all different from each other, i do like this palette but it's nothing like my coastal scents concealers - it's handy to pop into your handbag or if you're staying over somewhere as it's very small and compact, i need to play with these more to see how they are on the skin as i've tried it once but i used my collection2000 concealer on top...

TREAT & TAME BROWS IN 'MEDIUM' - I tried this today and i am pretty impressed.  The medium looks like it would be too light for my dark brows (i tinted them the other night) but once applied it looks fine and blends in perfectly.  The brush is decent sized and very dense, it also has small fibres on the end of the brush so it fills in your brows like those fibre mascaras make lashes longer.  The treat side im not so sure if it would actually help your brows grow but i will test it :) i have applied it today already and will apply it again tonight before bed and update you all in a few weeks because i do have quite sparse brows from overplucking in the past and would love to make them thicker.

So as you can see i think ELF is hit or miss on most products.  I deffo suggest their lipliners as they are so cheap and very pigmented, nail polish is amazing and can't wait to buy more and a few other bits but stay well away from the mineral lipsticks URGH!

Whats your fave ELF products? :)
